Dydd Cymraeg

29th September 2023

Criw Cymraeg, along with Mrs Crooks worked hard to plan a fantastic Dydd Cymraeg for us on Friday, where we carried out so many lovely Welsh activities. There was singing, games, competitions and we got to discuss why we think learning the Welsh language is important, which the children wanted to share with you!

Our day started in the hall where Mrs Crooks and Mr Lindquist showed us a video about all the amazing things that had come from Wales, from inventions to famous people. We then all stood together whilst we sang the Welsh National Anthem. We were all very proud to do this!

Then we all joined together to learn the words to Sosban Fach, and within 10 minutes we knew all the words and had so much fun singing along!

Ysgol Gellifor pupils explain the importance of learning Welsh.

During our Dydd Cymraeg day, we also discussed the importance and the benefits of learning Welsh. The children then decided they wanted to share their thoughts with you through video.
