Grace Darling

We have been learning about Grace Darling who achieved great fame for the part she played in the rescue of survivors from a wrecked merchant ship in 1838. Grace was born in 1815, and she heroically helped to rescue survivors from the Forfarshire, a vessel travelling from Hull to Dundee, which was wrecked on the Farne Islands, off the coast of Northumberland.

We wanted to make our own fact file about Grace Darling as well as sketch her portrait. So, we decided to put them both together – We were really proud of our finished pieces.

The Juniors are busy gathering facts about Grace Darling and tracing her portrait, ready to start their Fact File.
