Illuminated Letters

In our Art Club sessions, we have been studying Illuminated Letters.

 

An illumination is an EMBELLISHMENT, or additional decoration that enhances the pages of a written, or manuscript page. The term, Illumination come from the term Illuminate, or to fill with light.

 

 

We looked at a selection of different illuminations before creating our own colourful illuminated letters.
