Learning Morse Code

During our Maths lessons we looked at Morse code and how it is used in telecommunication to encode messages using two different signals, called dots and dashes, or dits and dahs.

We researched Samuel Morse one of the inventors of the telegraph.

Using the International Morse Code symbols, we got to encode secret messages so that we could go on a hunt around the school, to find a hidden message.

We had to encode the secret message we had been given, so that we could find the letters that were hidden around the school.

Once we had cracked each message we went on a hunt around the school to find hidden letters that spelt out a common phrase!
