Read-a-thon
The children have been excited with the refurbishment of their new school library. So much so, that they wanted to be a part of raising money to help buy new books of their choice.
The staff and children discussed ways of raising money, and together everyone decided to take part in a Read-a-thon.
Every child in the school read a selection of books over a 2-week period and recorded the amount of minutes they read for everyday.
They also got sponsors to support their cause.
The school held a celebration for the children to congratulate them on all their hard work, where they all received a certificate for taking part. Together the children read for over 2,000 minutes collectively, over the 2-weeks as well as raising a staggering £900 towards the refurbishment of our new school library.
