Years 5 & 6 Visit Brynhyfryd for a morning of Local History.

Years 5 & 6 enjoyed a morning of History at Ysgol Brynhyfryd, where they took part in lessons linking to Ruthin Gaol. During the first lesson the children looked at prisoners from Ruthin Gaol and identified who they were, how old they were and what occupations they had before becoming inmates!

The last lesson the children carried out involved some Drama and History. The children listened to and talked about Prisoner William Barker, 1906, who was sent to Ruthin Gaol many times. During the drama activity everyone had the opportunity to take on character roles and were shown how to 'Tow the Line.'

Thank you to the staff at Ysgol Brynhyfryd for organising such a fun morning for the children!
