  PC Llinos visited the Juniors this week, where she spoke to the children about Internet Safety and how to keep safe online.

  

• Ysgol Gellifor Pray for Ukraine

  The children at Ysgol Gellifor came together this week to make card hearts to send to the children of Ukraine. The children were asked to make the hearts by the local community group to give some comfort in knowing that they are in our thoughts.

  Kelly Benton from the local community group, visited the school to collect the hearts, ready to send them to the mayor of Przemysl in Poland, where they have been accepting refugees and we are hoping that the hearts will bring a smile to the little ones faces!

   

  

• Read-a-thon

  The children have been excited with the refurbishment of their new school library. So much so, that they wanted to be a part of raising money to help buy new books of their choice.

  The staff and children discussed ways of raising money, and together everyone decided to take part in a Read-a-thon.

  Every child in the school read a selection of books over a 2-week period and recorded the amount of minutes they read for everyday.

  They also got sponsors to support their cause.

  The school held a celebration for the children to congratulate them on all their hard work, where they all received a certificate for taking part. Together the children read for over 2,000 minutes collectively, over the 2-weeks as well as raising a staggering £900 towards the refurbishment of our new school library.
